Using Coupon Alias
What is a Coupon Alias?
A coupon alias is a unique code attached to each coupon hash comprised of random letters and numbers that can be entered by the consumer in the promo code field during the checkout process for online orders (web and app).
They are available when generating Independant Campaign coupons for Ordering only.
What is the Use Case?
The coupon alias is applied to provide customers with a string to enter that is more convenient and user friendly than the coupon hash, and where (unlike the promo code) each customer is provided a unique code.
What Configuration is Needed?
Before you can generate coupons with an alias attached, the following confguration option must be enabled in Polygon Central. This setting is located in an area that is not usually exposed to Admin users and you may need to reach out to your Redcat contact to ensure it is on.
Configuration| Loyalty | General Details | Use Coupon Aliases (online)
Coupon Creation
When creating the coupon, on the Other Details tab, enable the Use Aliases setting.
Remember - this option is only available for Independant Campaign coupons for Ordering.
If these requirements have been met and the option is not available, confirm that the configuration setting has been applied.

Obtaining the list of Aliases
The alias for each coupon hash can be listed and exported using the following report by including the field Alias:
