Redcat & Payments
Summary
You are not required to use a single payment provider with Redcat. You can use Redcat Pay, our own payments product, or one of the providers in our partner marketplace.
What matters more than which provider you pick is that it's integrated with Redcat rather than sitting beside it as a standalone terminal.
Why integration matters
A standalone terminal sits next to the POS. Staff read the amount off the screen and key it in by hand, and every payment is an unlinked event. An integrated solution sends the amount to the terminal or payment page and records the result against the order.
| Standalone | Integrated | |
|---|---|---|
| Entering the amount | Keyed by hand | Sent from POS, kiosk or checkout |
| Keying errors | Common and hard to detect | Not possible |
| End of day | POS and terminal totals balanced manually | Payments already matched to orders |
| Disputes | Match by time and amount across two systems | Order and payment share a reference |
| Reporting | Sales and payments in separate places | Both in one view |
In a QSR the real cost of non-integrated payments isn't the transaction fee. It's mis-keyed amounts at peak trade, staff time at close, and the week-later hunt for why the POS says $18,400 and the bank says $18,317.
Your options
Redcat Pay (POS, Kiosk, Online)
This our native product, built on Adyen for Platforms with Redcat as the payment facilitator. Because it's inside the same platform as your POS, ordering and loyalty, it can do things a third party can't: loyalty sign-up at the point of payment, one rate structure across all three channels, one support number when a payment problem and a POS problem look identical at 7pm on a Friday. Settlement is T+1 with direct Xero integration.
Redcat Pay is a choice, not a requirement. If a partner suits your business better, that's a supported outcome.
Preferred Partners
| Provider | Channels | Countries |
|---|---|---|
| Tyro | POS, Kiosk, Online | AU |
| Redcat Pay | POS, Kiosk, Online | Globally |
Commercial Partners
| Provider | Channels | Countries |
|---|---|---|
| Zeller | POS & Kiosk | AU |
| Dojo | POS | UK |
| Windcave | POS | NZ |
Non-Commercial integrations
Generic acquiring through middleware such as Linkly (POS only). This lets you keep an acquirer we don't partner with directly. The trade-off is a longer support path when something breaks.
What is Redcat Pay?
Our native pay product, powered by Adyen for Platforms with Redcat as the payment facilitator and operates natively in part of Redcat.

What the tiers mean
The tiers describe our relationship with the provider, not the quality of the provider.
| Native | Preferred | Commercial | Non-commercial | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rates | Set by Redcat | Negotiated Redcat rates | Redcat-referred rates | You negotiate directly |
| Integration | Built in | Dedicated, maintained | Dedicated, maintained | Via middleware |
| Support | Redcat end to end | Redcat first, agreed escalation | Redcat first, standard escalation | Redcat covers the link only |
| New features | First | Prioritised | As roadmap allows | Limited to what middleware exposes |
For anything other than Redcat Pay, your merchant agreement is with the provider. Rates, settlement, chargebacks, terminals and onboarding are theirs to manage, not ours.
Choosing
Four questions to consider when assessing your payment options:
- Which channels? If you need POS, Kiosk and Online from one provider, the shortlist is Tyro or Redcat Pay. Anything else means running two providers.
- Which country? Zeller is AU only, Dojo is UK only. Multi-country groups should expect more than one provider unless they use Redcat Pay.
- Does loyalty matter? Capture at the point of payment only works with Redcat Pay.
- What's reconciliation costing you? If finance spends hours a week matching POS to settlement, consolidating usually beats a few basis points on the rate.
Existing contract terms, terminal leases and exit costs often set the timing. Raise those with your Account Manager early, since they shape sequencing rather than the decision itself.
Regulatory change from 1 October 2026 (Australia Only)
Under RBA reform, card surcharging is being removed, domestic interchange caps are being lowered, and providers will have to be more transparent about scheme and processing fees. If any part of your payment economics depends on surcharging today, review it now rather than in September.
