Order Input Values
This article will detail the Input Type recorded against sales.
Summary
Input Type values are stamped on sales records to reflect either the order channel or the method of attaching a member loyalty record to the sale.
This is applicable for both both member and non-member (guest) sales.
Prerequisites
This functionality was deployed in the 2025 Q2 Polygon Central release.
It requires Polygon POS 2506.2.1 or later.
Input Types
The Input Types are:
| Input Type | Label | Description |
| 1 | POS Loyalty Card | A member card or coupon was scanned at or swiped at POS with a prefix ; that links to the Loyalty Card profile type Card. |
| 2 | POS App Barcode | A member barcode or member coupon barcode was scanned at POS with a prefix # that links to Loyalty Card Profile type SmartPhone - usually an onscreen barcode from within the Loyalty app. |
| 3 | Online Order | No longer in use for POS. Online Gift Card purchases Kiosk Sales |
| 4 | POS Lookup Mobile | A member was retrieved at POS using the Mobile Number field in Customer Details, to perform mobile look up: |
| 5 | POS Lookup MemberNo | A member was retrieved at POS using the Member ID field in Customer Details, to perform a look up on the card number / member number. Often used if the POS scanner is broken. |
| 6 | POS Guest | Non-member sale recorded at POS. This value will only be recorded in sales headers, not in member sales headers, as no member txn is posted |
| 301 | Website Order | An order was received into POS, originating from online ordering. This can be either Redcat or 3rd party integrator and applies to both member and non-member sales. |
| 302 | App Order | An order was received into POS, originating from a Redcat app. This applies to both member and non-member sales. |
For customers with direct database access or using a BI tool, the input types:
- can be reviewed in tbl_webinputtypes
- are stamped in
- tbl_salesheaders.inputtype
- tbl_membersalesheaders.inputtype

Considerations
Non-member coupons and gift card redemptions do not have an itemised input type even though they are recognised by the prefixes ; or #. Therefore, sales that include a coupon or gift card redemption, where no member is associated will record the relevant input type for the order (6, 301 or 302).
